Been to the Barcelo Talanquera Beach Resort in Juan Dolio in Santo Domingo?

HI !, this not a bad idea, but you will be in Juan Dolio and like Punta Cana/Bavaro you will find nothing (or almost nothing) outside the resorts. I suggest to look for Puerto Plata, there you will have more entertainment (for the kids and the parents) like Ocean World, Isabella de Torre, the town is 10 min away from most hotels and there stores.
Juan Dolio is about 77 km from Santo Domingo and Punta Cana/Bavaro is 49 km from Higuey.
You have a Barcelo hotel in Playa Dorada ( Puerto Plata),
other suggestion: I know a very good small hotel/resort in Sosua with a private beach and a public beach, this is very good and labeled with 4*. Sosua is about 20 min from Puerto Plata airport. This Hotel is a Boutique Hotel and for the kids,
it’s very secure! (the Barcelo Hotel in Playa Dorada is also secure). Wel try to find out if the Sosua By The Sea is for you or the Barcelo Resort. If needed more info or later on some excursions/tours we are at you service.

I have never stayed there but i had some “friends” stayed and they like it. they had a really good deal on the price. because they went off season. so it was really cheap like US$40. i don’t know how much are you paying right now, but rates vary it depends on the season maybe ” US$80″ don’t know, just guessing. The Capella hotel which it is also from Barcelo this one nice, it is also in Juan Dolio. Close to Capella Hotel.
They are both like 20 mins from From the airport Las Americas. 45-60 from Santo Domingo City.
They are just for you to stay there and enjoy yourself inside the resorts. most of the comments that i heard from people about Barcelo hotels are good they prefer these rather than Coral ….
